Hawaii Foodbank

Project Type:
Corporate Office
Service Type:
Interior/Architecture

With the increasing need to serve local community organizations, Hawaii Foodbank was outgrowing their existing office space due to increased staffing and evolving operations.

Ferraro Choi was brought on board to reorganize, design, and renovate the two-story office space located within their warehouse, which also houses food receiving, storage, and distribution operations.

The existing space was enlarged and re-planned to create an efficient layout, which included expanding the second story office space into the warehouse to accommodate a larger, dividable conference room, a dedicated volunteer meeting area, additional private offices and open office space, and a new air-conditioned break room on the ground floor for the warehouse staff.

A large challenge of this project was the need to keep the Hawaii Foodbank fully operational during construction. Ferraro Choi worked with the client and the General Contractor to develop a construction plan to make this happen.
