Ferraro Choi and The Miller Hull Partnership have joined forces to collaborate on an innovative 212,000 SF middle school in East Kapolei for the State’s Department of Education. Originally conceived through the community-based design process and DOE objectives, this new campus will provide a superior learning environment. By combining the best of 21st Century learning principles in the design of instructional spaces with comfortable and versatile outdoor learning areas, this campus will provide students and faculty an exciting learner-centric environment.

A guiding principle of the school’s design is to place high visibility and focus on the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) classrooms as envisioned by Project Lead the Way. The project is currently on track to be the first CHPS Verified whole campus in Hawaii.

Phase 2 includes a second 3-story classroom building and soccer fi eld. Phase 3 will include a third 3-story classroom building, PE/Locker-Shower facilities and a softball fi eld.

Ferraro Choi is the lead Architect and Prime joined by collaborating architect The Miller Hull Partnership in providing full design services including Public Outreach, Entitlement Processing, Programming, Site Planning, Design, Construction Documents, Bidding, Permitting and Construction Administration.
