Ferraro Choi and The Miller Hull Partnership have joined forces to collaborate on an innovative 212,000 SF middle school in East Kapolei for the State’s Department of Education. Originally conceived through the community-based design process and DOE objectives, this new campus will provide a superior learning environment. By combining the best of 21st Century learning principles in the design of instructional spaces with comfortable and versatile outdoor learning areas, this campus provides students and faculty an exciting learner-centric environment.

A guiding principle of the school’s design is to place high visibility and focus on the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) classrooms as envisioned by Project Lead the Way.

Phase 2 includes a second 3-story classroom building and soccer field. Phase 3 includes a third 3-story classroom building, PE/Locker-Shower facilities and a softball field.

Ferraro Choi is the lead Architect and Prime joined by collaborating architect The Miller Hull Partnership in providing full design services including Public Outreach, Entitlement Processing, Programming, Site Planning, Design, Construction Documents, Bidding, Permitting and Construction Administration.

Honouliuli Middle School has CHPS Verified status, becoming the first whole campus to reach that distinction in the state. Click here to view CHPS Honouliuli Middle School
