Ferraro Choi partnered with Hunt Development to design the Aloha VA Multi-Specialty Outpatient Clinic. This new 114,000 sf facility will provide much needed healthcare services to our Veterans on the West Side of Oahu. The program includes Mental Health, Primary Care, Specialty Care, Audiology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Prosthetics and Physical Therapy Programs. Additionally, there will be Laboratory, Pharmacy and Veterans Services.

The design was envisioned as a welcoming building that would be appropriate to the community and context of Kalaeloa. The building colors, textures and materials reflect the natural context of the building and the landscaping integrates endemic plants. Energy efficiency is enhanced by building integrated photovoltaic canopies that cover the main pedestrian paths to the building and diffuse daylighting is provided throughout the clinic from light monitors. The interior design focuses on creating an environment of warmth, inclusivity and healing.

The project is currently in construction and set for completion at the end of 2023.
