NAIOP Kukulu Hale Award 2024 - Renovation CategoryPapa Pilialoha – The Friendship Floor is a communal workspace created to cultivate inspiration and engagement among Central Pacific Bank employees who typically work remotely or have hybrid schedules. The design was shaped by input from a cross section of departments and generations. Over 12,500 square feet of open concept and multi-functional spaces accommodate everything from individuals’ focused work to large special events. Features include sit-to-stand workstations, formal and casual gathering spaces, a wellness/nursing room, treadmill desks, phone booths, and a ‘Park and Recreation’ area to decompress and socialize with coworkers.
Additionally, Papa Pilialoha – The Friendship Floor, serves as a hub for various events and activities aimed at fostering a sense of community and collaboration among employees. From University of Hawaii talks to cooking demos and tastings, the space hosts a diverse range of events catering to different interests and passions within the CPB family. This not only enhances relationships between coworkers but also strengthens ties with the broader community, aligning with CPB’s commitment to building meaningful connections both internally and externally.
This project has been received very well by employees and they have expressed their appreciation for this welcoming, inclusive, modern workspace where they can work together to best serve their customers and community.
