Ferraro Choi Names Two New Associates
Mark Ayers, AIA, LEED AP and Kurt Katada have been named Associates at Ferraro Choi – Both Associates have been with the architecture firm for over 10 years.
Mark Ayers joined Ferraro Choi in 2003. His current projects include the new STEM/Science Center and master plan for Stevenson Middle School, the new music building and gymnasium for Roosevelt High School, and master planning East Kapolei Middle School. He is a contributing author in the book “Sustainable Design of Research Laboratories – Planning, Design, and Operation”, by Kling Stubbins, published in 2010. Mr. Ayers is co-chair of the AIA Honolulu’s Committee on the Environment and an active member of the local chapter of the United States Green Buildings Council’s Green Schools Committee.
Kurt Katada joined Ferraro Choi in 1996 and currently oversees Interior Design for the firm. Mr. Katada designed and managed the first LEED® Gold certified project in Hawai‘i, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Honolulu Office. He recently directed the design of offices for Island Air and the Ulupono Initiative as well as the national and international award winning projects for Ferraro Choi. He is a guest critic for Chaminade University’s Interior Design Program.
